Swatara Township Planning Commission

Ordinance No. 2020-01 states that there are to be five (5) residents appointed by the governing body for 4-year terms.  The volunteer citizen planners who are serving as members of the Commission are:

Meeting Dates

The first Tuesday of the month, with exceptions noted below. *

Meetings of the Planning Commission are held at the Swatara Township Municipal Building located at 599 Eisenhower Boulevard, Harrisburg, PA and begin at 7:00 pm.  All meetings are open to the public, and the building is accessible to persons with disabilites.

Plan Submission Dates

A complete application must be submitted at least one week prior to have Subdivision – Land Development Plan accepted for review at the next meeting of the Planning Commission.  The official plan review process starts with acceptance of the plan by the Planning Commission.  Plan review submission packages should be delivered to the Township Director of Planning at the Municipal Building.


Subdivision – Land Development Plan Submission Requirements

(See Township Code Chapter 253, Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance for specific plan requirements):
            10 sets of plan drawings+
            3 copies of all reports+
            1 disc or flash drive of plan drawings in PDF format+
            Applicable Township Fees plus applicable pre-payment of Engineer Review Fees+
            Dauphin County Plan Review Application and applicable fees.
            NOTE: Beginning 01/01/2019 the Dauphin County Planning Commission requires that all plan applications must be submitted in a digital plan recorded in pdf format and cannot exceed 10MB in size.  Portable flash drives are preferred.  The County review referral form must be delivered to the Township so the Planning Director can sign it.   The Director will have a paper set of plans, flash drive and the fee delivered to the County office.
