Donald Taylor Memorial Park, located at 3798 Brisban Street, was named for Lenker Manor resident PFC Donald Richard Taylor. He served as Private First Class in the Signal Corps. His last primary Military Occupational Specialty was 72B10-Communications Center Specialist for the 1963-1964 72B10, 3rd Radio Research Unit/David Station (RRU). He served from 1962-1964 during the Vietnam War. SP4 Arthur Glover and PFC Donald R. Taylor were killed on February 9, 1964 when two bombs were detonated under bleachers at a softball game at Pershing Field, near Tan Son Nhut. Twenty-three others were injured in the blasts (7 of those were service men). It was the second terrorist attack at that time.
